Before a large gathering of Guests, Junior Speedway Racing Association of WA President Des Alfirevich announced a positive and exciting season in 2009/2010  with the Healthway Smarter than Smoking All Star Drivers competing on Autotrader Fast Fridays and Healthway Smarter than Smoking Top Star Drivers competing on Super Saturdays.

VIPs at the Event included The Honourable Mr Roger Cook Member for Kwinana and Deputy Leader of the Opposition; Her Worship the Mayor of Kwinana Mrs Carol Adams; Mr Leo Kerr CEO Carbon Neutral; Mr Neil Sayer Speedway Sedans Australia CEO & NASR Chairman; Mr Dale Gilson, General Manager NASR and Mr Gavin Migro Perth Motorplex Speedway Manager together with prominent Speedway identities, media representatives and drivers parents and friends.

Mr Alfirevich said that for a record 13th season the club was to be sponsored by Healthway, promoting the Heart Foundations Smarter than Smoking message in the Smarter Than Smoking Series at Perth Motorplex and also this year in the Smarter than Smoking Junior Sedan Country Challenge- a 6 meetings series to include a forum for Junior development and to be held at Northam, Moora, Pithara, Narrogin, Kalgoorlie and Ellenbrook.

For the second year JSRA drivers would once again be responsible members of the planet and through Carbon Neutral have cumulatively contributed to the Offset 40 tonnes of carbon emissions through the planting of 40 native seedlings for rural Australia. The JSRA are still the only speedway division in Australia doing so.

A new initiative for JSRA drivers this season will be a Rewards Club.  Drivers will be given raffle tickets for contributing to JSRA duties.  For example, maintaining clean work bay, publicity duties, finishing races, wearing Healthway clothing, etc. will gain an opportunity to win prizes at the completion of the season.
